Tour de PPA Race Report

Wrapping up the 2nd month of the year, it has already been a busy racing season.

Tour de PPA this past weekend was a great opportunity to get more racing into the legs in lead to Tour de Cap, a 4-day stage road race that is held in Wellington.

“It was punchy and hard but felt good,” says Zanri.

The event offers two distances of which the team participated in the 105km that started and ended in Durbanville.

In asking Maroesjka how it went, her response was, “It was a fun bunch, riding with the men, which made it tactical.”

Ashleigh believes that it was good race for the team, learning to race between the men.

“I took a gamble and attacked with about 1km to go, but unfortunately got caught 300m before the line. Ending up in 3rd, with Maroesjka taking the overall win in the sprint and Ashleigh in second place,” says Charlissa.

A full podium finish for the team is another confidence booster going into what is predicted to be a tough couple days.
