As many browsed at what Bikefest Paarl had to offer this past weekend at Rhebokskloof, Andrea and Nix took to the trails to compete in the SA XCM.
In preparation for the Absa Cape Epic, Nix has partnered up with riding partner Tess Keers. She nabbed a solid 5th place in the Veteran Women’s age category.
Being new to marathon, Andrea went into the race with no expectation.
“I really enjoyed the route and it was very well organised. The flowy trails made up for all the uphill’s. It was hard competing against all the older girls and with time I think I will be able to dice with them. For now I’m happy. It has been a busy block of racing so I’m looking forward to get a solid block of training in again before my next goals.”
While there was no official u/23 category, she placed first and held her own amongst the Elite group.
