Herald Cycle Tour Race Report

Going into the Herald Cycling Tour, the team knew that it would be a showdown between them and Hayley Preen.

“Hayley took the race head on and attacked on the first of the four punchy climbs within the first quarter of the race. Zanri was badly positioned on the left side of the road when Hayley went for it.

Charlissa and I tried to follow but didn’t have the fire power to go with. Zanri, Charlissa and I chased for 30km, keeping the gap at 20-30 seconds. Later, it suddenly increased to 1:30 and built up to 3 minutes.” Says Maroesjka.

Maroesjka finished the race with a sprint to take 2^nd place but mentions that Zanri was the star, next to Hayley, with a fantastic effort of pulling the chasing riders for most of the race.

Charlissa finished 1^st in the u/23 age category and 4^th amongst the Elites, with Maroesjka in 2^nd and Zanri in 5^th place.
