The intention to grow women’s cycling starts with small, attainable steps.
Iviwe Khalo, the 20-year-old IT Engineering student, has been invited into the Reach For Rainbows Rookie Programme where she will be assisted with various opportunities on and off the bicycle.
While cycling is a pursuable passion, we hope to provide more than just cycling opportunities through our Rookie Programme – we hope to influence wholistic-human development through the funding we receive from our funding programme.
We believe that being happy and fulfilled off the bike is just as important as pursuing improvement on it.
Iviwe represented Reach For Rainbows recently at Tour de PPA and Cape Town Cycle Tour, which were great experiences to test the racing legs.
Having been identified by passionate cyclist, Sims Tanga, we hope to work alongside him to create more opportunities for aspiring young cyclists over the coming years.
