The 2nd Western Cape XCO of the season takes place at Bloemendal Trail Park.
Racing kicks off at 8am, with aspirational riders taking to the course, looking to clench their well-deserved medal, a personal best, rack up points, or claim the top step.
Andrea, looking to build a solid racing season packed with experience, will be participating to fill her training with good intensity.
The field is expected to be small, but she hopes to see more women taking to the discipline.
When asked how she thinks more women could get comfortable with racing XCO, her response was, “Ride with guys and people who are more skilled and faster. Enter an XCO and start by riding all the b-lines, and as you progress, you can start trying a-lines. Before you know it, you’ll
have them all dialed.”
This year, Andrea is working to hold onto her u/23 National title and wants to properly
compete in Europe.
