“It’s definitely much bigger than any other event I have done in the past.”
Zanri was recently informed that she would be heading to Glasgow for the 2023 World Championships. It has been months, if not years of setbacks that has fuelled her desire to work even harder.
“When I was selected to go to Worlds in Yorkshire, I had an accident and couldn’t participate, this might be my second chance.”
It has taken loads of patience, power, skill, sacrifices, training in good and bad weather, and less socializing.
“I’ve grown my understanding of this sport, which has taken time. I’ve also had to learn to believe in my own abilities.”
Zanri has stacked an incredible season of performances and was awarded her South African ITT colours in February at the South African National Championships that was held in Oudtshoorn.
“This is an opportunity to make my dream come true, I’m so excited.”
While it’s difficult to predict what will happen at any event, her only wish is that everything goes smoothly.
“I will be giving 100% in each event, knowing that we are competing against the world’s best who do this for a living.”
