“It’s been great being back racing the Kermesse again after 5 years,” shares Maroesjka.
Maroesjka and Charlissa have been in Belgium the past couple of weeks, sharpening their racing experience before the upcoming SA season.
While Maroesjka has had a good taste of European racing, this is a first for Charlissa.
“I absolutely love the racing here. It’s quite intense, and my goal for my first race was just to finish without getting pulled off.”
Charlissa finished her first Elite race in the bunch and looked to ride more aggressively in her second.
The first race was in Beveren, and the 2nd was Masemem.
Maroesjka started her first race with a bang, winning a “primie” out of a sprint.
“I felt confident going into these races, something that is very new to me. I’m still adjusting to the racing, but I’m happy with how it has started. It’s only up from here.”
